The City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department (EMD) continues to monitor the U.S. federal government shutdown and its impacts on the SNAP/CalFresh program. EMD is working alongside key partners such as the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and agencies of the County of Los Angeles.
For food assistance and to locate food banks, pantries, or other essential resources during this time period, please visit the following online listings, or call LA County's 211 information line.
Find Local Food Pantries
LA County has a network of 940 food pantries across the County coordinated by the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Free food is available now for anyone who needs it and supplies will be increased for the month of November.

Free Snack & Dinner Programs (Youth and Seniors)
For teens 12–18, the LA County Parks Free Hot Supper Program provides evening meals across multiple sites, offering a safe and welcoming space to gather and refuel after school.
Youth 17 and under can take part in its Free Youth Snack Program, enjoying healthy snacks in a structured, supportive environment each afternoon.

LA Unified School Food Services
California is mandated to provide two free meals (breakfast and lunch) for students Monday through Friday. In addition, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) offers weekend meal kits for Saturday and Sunday. To learn more, visit: LAUSD.org/CafeLA
FREE Food for Seniors
Seniors over 60 may be eligible for a free meal at local senior centers: Call (800) 510-2020 for more information.

Project DASH: The DoorDash Emergency Response program offers no-cost delivery of emergency food boxes through local food banks. Project Dash is designed for those unable to travel to food distribution sites during the CalFresh interruption. More information at: DoorDash.com/Project-Dash
